Last week’s drama: Well I think everyone, including myself was rooting for Bubba Watson last week at The Travellers. Sadly his chances were drowned (Literally) when he stuck his tee shot, which landed about 5 feet away from the safety of the greenside bunker, on the Par 3 16th into the water. That along with Charley Hoffman knocking his bunker shot into the hole on 18 for birdie 3 to finish in a tie for 7th, 1 shot off getting me a place.  Anyway despite that kick in the gentleman’s region from both Charley and Bubba, lets move onto this week at The AT&T.

Billy Horchel 22/1

I have to say whenever I back this guy he’s always there or there abouts and I don’t see this week being any different. Billy has two top 10’s in his last two starts finishing tied 10th at The FedEx St Jude  and Tied 4th at The very tricky US Open at Merion. Horcel’s game is good for this week averaging 291.1 in Driving Distance ranking 58th and Ranking a very respectable 35th in Driving Accuracy and 8th in Total Driving. 25th in GIR, 17th in Strokes Gained, 2nd in Birdie Average and 6th in the all around make Billy a very tempting bet this week at 22/1. He has the stats and the game to put together a good week and can recover well if he makes any mistakes. Without doubt one to watch.

Adam Scott 11/1

He’s The Top ranked player in the field this week and has a great record here finishing 3rd twice back in 2010 and 2011. Since his historic Masters win at Augusta, Scott has had 2 top 20’s in his last 3 starts including a T19th finish at The Players and T13th at The Memorial. Scott’s game should suit this course ranking 16th in Driving Distance, 36th in GIR, 9th in Birdie Average, 4th in Scoring Average and 3rd in the All around make Scott a worthy bet this week, at least for me anyway!

Jason Day 14/1

Jason Day is having a pretty good season so far with great finishes in both The Masters and The US Open finishing 3rd and most recently tied 2nd at Merion not to mention he finished 2nd in The US Open to Mcilroy in 2011 on this course so he’ll be a popular bet this week. Day always steps up to the plate in the big tournaments on tough courses so I expect him to have a great week here as he appears to love a challenge. He has placed inside the top 10 here twice, in 2012 and in 2010. 12th in Driving Distance, 21st in Strokes Gained, 13th in Scoring Average and 10th in the All Around. Like Scott he has a good previous record and also has the stats to match and although he is very short in odds, I expect him to be well up there come Sunday.

Graham DeLaet 33/1

He’s a guy in serious form last week and he impressed me last week at The Travellers finishing in a very impressive 3rd place finish to an unlucky Chris Stroud. In his last 4 rounds DeLaet hasn’t finished worse than 22nd. He had a top 5 last week not to mention finishing in a tie for 10th at The Byron Nelson back in May. His stats are suitable for Congressional ranking an impressive 9th in Driving Distance averaging 301.1 off the tee, 38th in Driving Accuracy, 1st in GIR, 16th in both Birdie Average and Scoring Average. If he continues to play the way he is Ill happily take him at 33/1.

Rickie Fowler 25/1

Rickie is showing some good from in his last 2 events finishing in a tie for 10th at The US Open in Merion and finished in a tie for 13th last week at The Travellers. Finished in a tie for 13th back in 2011 and could go all the way this week given his current run of form. He ranks 48th in Driving Accuracy, 39th in Strokes Gained, 40th in Birdie Average, 28th in Scoring Average and 25th in the All Around. If Rickie hits the ball well off the tee and keeps it in the fairway it should give him some good opportunities to attack some pins.
